Our Foundation

Guided by purpose since Partition

Our Mission

To provide quality, affordable and character-building education to the children of Karachi — regardless of means — through schools that combine academic rigour with moral grounding and community care.

Our Vision

A Pakistan where every child — and especially every girl — grows up confident, curious and future-ready, carrying forward the vision our founders shared with Mohtarma Fatima Jinnah in 1948.

Our Values

Ilm (knowledge), Adab (character), Khidmat (service) and Himmat (courage) — four values woven into every classroom, assembly, sports field and staff room across our campuses.

About PMWES

A women-led education movement, 75 years strong

In the earliest days of Pakistan, a group of visionary Memon women — led by Khadija Hajiani — resolved that the new nation's daughters would not be left behind. From a single classroom in Kharadar, the Pakistan Memon Women Educational Society grew into one of Karachi's most respected educational trusts.

Today, the Raunaq-e-Islam family spans multiple campuses, a teacher training institute, special education services, vocational programmes and a network of neighborhood schools serving communities that formal schooling rarely reaches.

  • Non-profit, community-governed since 1948
  • Preschool to Higher Secondary — Matric and Cambridge
  • Scholarships and fee support so no child is turned away

The Pakistan Memon Women Educational Society is a non-profit educational trust founded in 1948, shortly after Partition. It manages the Raunaq-e-Islam family of schools in Karachi, making us one of Pakistan's oldest continuously running school systems — more than 75 years and counting.

We offer both the national Matric (SSC) stream and the Cambridge O Level pathway, along with Higher Secondary (Intermediate) programmes in science, commerce and humanities. Preschool and primary years follow an integrated, activity-based curriculum.

Applications open each year in the winter for the following academic session. You can start online from our Admissions page, or visit any campus office. The process includes a simple assessment appropriate to your child's age and a family interview.

Yes. As a charitable society, PMWES offers merit scholarships and need-based fee support at every campus. Our neighborhood schools are heavily subsidised, and no deserving child is refused for inability to pay. See Scholarships for details.

Our campuses are in Kharadar, Federal B Area, North Nazimabad and Nanakwada, Karachi — with neighborhood schools in several more communities. Visit Our Campuses for maps and contact details.
